My experience with this BBQ Smoker Grill combo
If you are looking for a grill, this grill is a hit and a miss. We were looking for a cheap grill that pretty much would cook for our big family especially for the holidays so we grabbed this grill that allows you to smoke and grill.
This grill unfortunately has some leaks to it and we are going to have to buy the grill gasket that seals it off so the smoke and heat can stay in and so that it cooks better and it also helps with the temperature and keeping it so that it is leveled and the heat stays in.
Another thing is the thermomotor does not always work so we had to have a meat thermomotor to make sure things were cooking the way it is suppose to. I cannot say much bad about the grill because in the end it did save Easter and it did not cook nearly as long.
Be warned that it we got the grill and started smoking tenderloins at 9:39pm and ended up stopping with it at 2 AM and if it only had about 30 minutes to an hour left it would of fully cooked. The tenderloin was the juices and had the prettiest rings on it so this thing does great as a smoker.
Once we figured out how it finally works the day of Easter it worked great and ended up having food done way before time for the dinner to start.
The charcoal chimney is a hit or miss but the coals we were using did not burn all the way through and they kept burning out causing us to have to light more. We were also using wood to help keep it light but they kept burning quickly and it was just an overall tiring event. The chimney is great for smoking though because it pretty much remove the fire but keeps the coals hot and smoking when it is lit.
Amazon does not have the Backyard BBQ one we have but they have some identical ones!
